How to use a Mounjaro pen?

  1. Mounjaro is a once-weekly treatment that is injected in the arm, leg or abdomen. With a very small and fine needle, the injection is administrated just under the skin.
  2. Pull off the base cap.
  3. Place the base flat on your skin, then unlock.
  4. Mounjaro has a simple dial in order to deliver the right amount of medication for your treatment stage.
  5. Press and hold the button for up to 10 seconds. Listen for the first click. It means the injection has started. The second click means that the injection is complete. Replace the cap and store as instructed.

How to dispose of used Mounjaro pen?

Do not throw away Mounjaro pens in household waste. They should be disposed in a sharp bin.

Mounjaro side effects

Managing the side effects of Mounjaro

There are a few steps you can take to reduce side effects of Mounjaro:

•    Avoid high sugar foods such as mangos, sweets, chocolates and fizzy drinks.
•    Avoid food with high fat content such as fried food, pizza, cheese, sausages and pastries.
•    Keep well hydrated – make sure you drink plenty of fluids, sipping on water throughout the day is a great way.
•    Eating meals in smaller portions.
•    Exercising and going for short walks
